The theme of the Girl Guides East Division Day was "Discover Your Potential, Unleash Your Creativity, Live Up Your Dreams!". 28 units from the schools in the East took part in the four competitions.
In the camp craft competition, our hours of practice in the hot sun paid off when the structure that we built using gadget poles was judged the best.
In addition, the auditorium nearly exploded as all GM Guides burst into cheers when the results of the dance competition was announced. The GM Guides presented a graceful Chinese dance which was judged the best among all the other dances.
Two teams comprising four Girl Guides took part in the sandwich making competition. We were awarded the two highest marks in the competition.
However the new ruling from the Guides Commissioner does not allow a unit which organizes the competition to win the competition that they are in charge of.
As the sandwich making competition was organized by GMSS, we were therefore "disqualified" from claiming the top awards. Nonetheless, it was an enriching and rewarding experience!
