Physical Education (PE)

1. Objectives of the PE Programme
to acquire a range of motor skills, concepts, principles and strategies to participate in 6 different sports
to display positive personal and social behaviour across different experiences and environments
to acquire health, diet, fitness and sports knowledge for lifelong commitment to a physically active and healthy lifestyle
to build a resilient character with an appreciation of the outdoors

3. Modes of Assessment
NAPFA test (PFT)
Theory assessment through SLS and HBL
Game skills assessment through peer feedback and intra-class competitions.
4. Department Policy
All students, except those with valid medical certificates, are to participate fully in PE lessons.
All students are to be in their House T-shirts, school PE shorts, socks and appropriate footwear for all PE lessons.
All students are to participate in sports events organised by the department.

5. Sports and Exercise Science (ESS) as an O-Level subject
The choice of taking ESS as an O-Level subject is offered to Secondary 3 students who are more sport-inclined, provided they meet the requirements at the end of the Secondary 2 year.
There is no N-Level paper for ESS. N(A) students will be taking their ESS O-Level papers concurrently with their N-Level Papers.
The 2-year curriculum will enable students to appreciate the theoretical and practical aspects of PE as well as prepare students who are keen in a tertiary education in:
